Kickoff

Hi folks-

I'm putting this blog together to document car projects in the hopes that my experiences will lend a hand to others who decide to do similar projects.

My wife and I started with cars fairly recently. We were both recreational private pilots, and once we had children we decided to try a hobby that was a little closer to home. I wanted to build a go-kart, my wife wanted me to build a cobra (go figure.) Anyway, we did it, had a blast building and driving, and have been kinda bitten since then.

Our first project, a Factory Five Racing 427 Cobra Replica (www.factoryfive.com) was, unfortunately, totaled a few months back. Our second project (swapping a 5.7 liter LS1 V8 into a '93 RX7) never really happened because right when we were about to pull the rotary motor for the swap, we found a completed car done much better than we could have done it for a great price. So, we have the car, but we have no project to write about :^).

So, we're building another Cobra Replica this winter. This time we're going with a 289 FIA replica manufactured by Unique Motorcars out of Gadsden AL www.uniquemotorcars.com.

You'll see a few posts of our 427 project, but I won't attempt to go into detail on the build. You can check out some of the buildup (moderatly documented) at www.wareham.com. The interesting stuff will be here though.
